According to PennDOT, Mount Carmel Avenue will be closed between Tyson Avenue and Houston Avenue throughout the construction period.
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Edge Hill Road, Jenkintown Road, and Easton Road around the work zone.
Local access will remain available at all times, but motorists traveling near the closure or along the detour route should expect delays and heavier-than-normal traffic conditions. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and seek alternate routes when possible.
SEPTA is performing the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. All scheduled activities remain weather dependent and could change if conditions warrant.
