Monthlong Lane Closures Could Snarl Traffic in Chadds Ford

CHADDS FORD TWP, PA — Drivers traveling through Chadds Ford Township should prepare for daytime lane restrictions throughout April as PennDOT continues roadway construction on two state highways in the area.

  • Roads Affected: U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Creek Road and Ring Road; Creek Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Upper Bank Drive
  • Dates: Wednesday, April 1 – Thursday, April 30 (weekdays)
  • Times: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Reason: Curb, ADA ramp, and sidewalk installation

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, weekday lane closures will occur in both directions of U.S. 1 between Creek Road and Ring Road while crews install curbing, ADA-accessible ramps, and sidewalks.

Additional lane closures will also affect Creek Road between Baltimore Pike and Upper Bank Drive during the same daytime work hours.

Motorists traveling through the area should plan extra time and expect delays as traffic moves through the work zones. Drivers may want to seek alternate routes during peak travel periods to avoid backups.

PennDOT noted that all scheduled construction activities are weather dependent and may change if conditions require.
