SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for stormwater improvements on state highways in Bucks and Montgomery counties, a move that is expected to cause significant traffic disruptions next week.
This upgrade is part of a larger $14.9 million project aiming to enhance stormwater management and facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists should brace for lane closures from Monday, January 15, through Friday, January 19, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The specific locations affected are Route 213 (Maple Avenue) between Woodbourne Road and Wheeler Way in Middletown Township, Bucks County, and Wynnewood Road between Athens Avenue and Argyle Road in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.
Drivers are advised to anticipate backups and delays in these areas and are encouraged to allow extra time when traveling through these work zones. The schedule is contingent upon weather conditions, and any adverse weather could potentially extend the duration of the project.
The contractor handling this project is Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County. Additionally, this project is financed entirely by state funds
