PHILADELPHIA, PA — More than 60 makers, artists, food vendors and small businesses will fill Dilworth Park over Labor Day weekend as a new open-air market brings local shopping, specialty foods and end-of-summer fun to Center City.
The first Made in Philadelphia Summer Market will run Friday, Sept. 4, through Sunday, Sept. 6, offering visitors a free, family-friendly way to browse handmade goods and support independent businesses as summer gives way to the fall festival season.
Shoppers can expect artwork, jewelry, accessories, skincare, home goods, fashion, specialty foods, candles, gifts and more from a curated mix of vendors from Philadelphia, the tri-state region and beyond.
“The new Made in Philadelphia Summer Market over Labor Day Weekend reflects the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that defines Philadelphia,” said CEO Thomas Bauer. “In partnership with the Center City District, we are proud to activate Dilworth Park year-round, creating spaces where local businesses can thrive and the community can gather throughout every season.”
Among the early featured vendors are Books And Bliss by Billa, offering self-published poetry books, apparel and stationery; Fairy Greens Lavender Farm with lavender bouquets, candles, soaps and body products; Carmona Mobile Foods with fresh flavored lemonades; Terri the Honey Lady with raw, unfiltered honey; and Wear Again with upcycled and one-of-a-kind clothing.
Other participating makers include Bessie Nails, Bookish, Happiness is…Granola, Kara Jo Creative, Kit Kat Kanvas, Lila N’ Berry, Moon Lake, Phannies, Silly Goose Stationery, Soul of Peonies Studio, Tracys Craft CS and Variedades Agata.
The market is organized by the team behind Christmas Village in Philadelphia and the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market, in cooperation with Center City District. It is part of a broader seasonal market series at Dilworth Park that will continue with a Fall Market in October and the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market beginning in November.
