PHILADELPHIA, PA — Lovell Minnick has appointed three advisers specializing in health care operations, regulatory compliance and sales strategy to strengthen investment evaluations and accelerate growth across its portfolio of financial services, business services and technology companies.
Brenda Cline, Mark Gerber and Brian Taylor will join the private equity firm’s Value Creation Team, working with management teams on operational improvements, risk management, commercial development and potential investments.
Cline brings more than four decades of experience in health care revenue cycle management, automation, acquisitions and operational restructuring.
She previously served as chief executive officer of Savista RCM and president of service solutions at nThrive. During more than 34 years at HCA, she spent 18 years leading Parallon’s Shared Service Center in Atlanta.
At Lovell Minnick, Cline will evaluate health care investment opportunities and advise portfolio companies on operating improvements and expansion strategies.
Gerber, a former FBI assistant director, established and led a compliance and audit function focused on the bureau’s national security programs.
He previously worked as a partner in PwC’s forensic services practice, advising corporate executives, boards and audit committees on regulatory matters, investigations and governance.
His responsibilities at Lovell Minnick will include regulatory strategy, compliance, corporate governance and risk management.
Taylor, co-founder and chief executive officer of Outperform Institute, has more than 37 years of experience developing sales organizations and commercial strategies.
He previously served as chief revenue officer at Advata and MCG, a Hearst company, and held senior sales leadership positions at FDB, also part of Hearst, and Marco Technologies.
Taylor will advise on sales growth, commercial restructuring, talent assessment, sales organization development and potential investments.
Managing Partner Steve Pierson framed the appointments as part of an approach to portfolio development that extends beyond financing.
“Our ability to help companies create long-term value extends well beyond providing capital,” Pierson stated.
Partner Brad Armstrong indicated that the advisers’ combined experience would help portfolio companies “navigate change, capitalize on new opportunities, and accelerate growth.”
