PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) will begin a long-term utility improvement project on Princeton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia, with construction set to impact traffic for more than a year.
Starting Monday, December 1, through Tuesday, June 30, 2026, eastbound Princeton Avenue will be closed weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM between Montague Street and Ditman Street. During the closure, motorists will be detoured via Ditman Street, Tyson Avenue, and Montague Street.
Local access will remain available, but drivers are advised to plan ahead and expect delays in the surrounding area. All work is weather dependent.
The extensive project aims to modernize utility infrastructure and improve long-term service reliability in the area.
