Long-Term Closures Set for Route 73 and Greenwood Avenue

CHELTENHAM TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced long-term closures of Route 73 (Church Road) and Greenwood Avenue in Cheltenham Township beginning Monday, October 10, as part of a $10.8 million safety and traffic flow improvement project.

Through July 2, 2026, westbound Route 73 will be closed 24/7 between Rices Mill Road and the Curtis Arboretum entrance, with traffic detoured via Washington Lane, Route 309, Ogontz Avenue, and Easton Road. Southbound Greenwood Avenue will also be closed between Spruce Lane and Barker Road, detouring motorists to Township Line Road, Washington Lane, Route 309, and Ogontz Avenue.

PennDOT advises motorists to expect delays, allow extra time, and follow posted detours. All work is weather dependent.
