Logan Capital Expands ETF Lineup With International Equity Fund

Logan Capital Management

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — Logan Capital has launched an actively managed international equity exchange-traded fund, expanding its investment offerings as the Pennsylvania asset manager seeks to capitalize on renewed investor interest in overseas stocks and diversification beyond U.S. technology companies.

The Logan Capital International ETF (NYSE: LCIV) is the firm’s second exchange-traded fund and follows an international dividend strategy that Logan Capital has managed through separately managed accounts since 2006.

The fund targets 35 to 45 U.S.-traded securities of foreign companies, primarily in developed markets, with an investment approach emphasizing dividend income and long-term capital appreciation.

Its launch gives financial advisors and individual investors access to an established institutional investment strategy through an exchange-traded structure, rather than a separately managed account.

Logan Capital is positioning the fund as an alternative for portfolios concentrated in U.S. equities, particularly large technology companies that have dominated domestic market performance in recent years.

“International equities have been underloved and underallocated for more than a decade, largely because U.S. markets dominated returns over that same period,” said Bill Fitzpatrick, CFA, a portfolio manager at Logan Capital.

“That dynamic is shifting. Dollar weakness and attractive valuations make the case for international allocation more compelling today than it has been in years,” Fitzpatrick said.

The investment strategy emphasizes established dividend-paying companies with strong balance sheets, sustainable cash flows and relatively low dividend payout ratios.

Portfolio managers begin with a universe of approximately 250 to 300 dividend-paying securities issued by companies with market capitalizations of at least $10 billion.

The firm then evaluates financial statements, business fundamentals and dividend sustainability before selecting individual holdings.

The resulting portfolio is expected to span seven to 11 economic sectors and at least 10 countries, with limited exposure to emerging markets.

That structure is intended to distribute investment exposure across industries and geographic markets while maintaining a concentrated portfolio of companies selected through fundamental research.

The fund follows Logan Capital’s International Dividend ADR strategy, which uses U.S.-traded securities representing ownership interests in foreign companies.

The strategy has operated continuously for approximately 20 years, providing the investment framework for the new ETF.

“We built this ETF for advisors looking for a tool that offers genuine diversification alongside an income-oriented investment objective,” said Dan Gruemmer, CFA, a Logan Capital portfolio manager.

The international fund expands Logan Capital’s ETF business beyond domestic growth stocks.

The firm entered the exchange-traded fund market in 2022 with the Logan Capital Large Cap Growth ETF (NYSE: LCLG).

LCIV will trade on the New York Stock Exchange and operate through a series trust structure administered by U.S. Bank.

Logan Capital is an independent, privately owned registered investment advisor based in Newtown Square, Delaware County.

The launch broadens the firm’s distribution of actively managed investment strategies, giving advisors an additional vehicle for international equity allocations while retaining the company’s existing security-selection approach.
