LANCASTER, PA — In a significant operation by the Lancaster County Drug Task Force (LCDTF), Timothy Sherrin, a 41-year-old resident of Lititz, has been charged with multiple drug and firearms offenses following the execution of a search warrant at his home on Greenhowe Drive. The announcement came from the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office on Monday, April 1, 2024, highlighting the discovery of an alarming array of narcotics and weaponry.
During the operation conducted on March 21, 2024, LCDTF members uncovered over 800 grams of methamphetamine, alongside quantities of psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, heroin, and two semiautomatic pistols lacking serial numbers, known as ghost guns. The search also yielded digital scales, packaging materials, and small Ziploc-style bags, suggesting a substantial involvement in narcotics distribution.
Sherrin faces three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and two counts of illegal possession of a firearm, in addition to charges for possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia. Given a prior conviction for possession of a controlled substance in 2021, Sherrin was prohibited from legally owning firearms, further complicating his legal troubles.
The operation, supported by the Manheim Township Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police, spotlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession within Lancaster County. The presence of ghost guns, in particular, poses a significant challenge for law enforcement due to their lack of serial numbers, making them difficult to trace.
Currently held in Lancaster County Prison, Sherrin’s bail has been set at $125,000.00 cash by Magisterial District Judge Courtney Monson. As the case progresses, it serves as a stark reminder of the complexities surrounding drug enforcement and gun control efforts.
It is important to remember that all charges against Sherrin are allegations at this stage. Sherrin is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
This arrest marks a significant achievement for the Lancaster County Drug Task Force and its collaborative partners. As the community awaits further developments, the case of Timothy Sherrin may provide valuable insights into the broader challenges facing law enforcement officials in Lancaster County and beyond.
