Lane Closures on Route 3 in Newtown Township to Cause Delays

NEWTOWN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that roadway construction will continue on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Newtown Township, Delaware County, as part of a local safety improvement project.

From Monday, July 8, through Friday, August 30, lane closures will occur on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM in both directions between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue. Additionally, from Tuesday, July 9, through Thursday, July 18, lane closures will be in effect from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM between Boot Road and Charles Ellis Drive for milling and paving.

Motorists should anticipate backups and delays in these areas and plan extra travel time accordingly. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.
