LANCASTER, PA — Halloween costumes, live music, and samples from more than 30 breweries, wineries, and distilleries will take over Penn Medicine Park as Lancaster’s Boos and Brews festival returns for an evening of seasonal entertainment supporting local community projects.
The fourth annual festival, presented by Hammond’s Pretzels, takes place Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 10 p.m., with VIP ticket holders receiving early admission at 5 p.m. The 21-and-older event benefits the Rotary Club of Lancaster Penn Square, which supports charitable and community initiatives throughout Lancaster County.
Guests will have an opportunity to explore a wide selection of craft beer, wine, spirits and hard seltzers while enjoying live music and a Halloween costume contest under the stadium lights.
More than 30 beverage producers are expected to participate, with confirmed vendors including Tröegs Independent Brewing, Victory Brewing Company, Lancaster Brewing Co., Red Rose Brewing Company, Tired Hands Brewing Company, Lancaster Craft Spirits Distillery, and Nissley Vineyards.
Additional participating businesses are expected to be announced before the festival.
The event transforms the ballpark into a Halloween gathering place, with beverage vendors stationed on the field and guests encouraged to arrive in costume.
A costume contest will recognize the best individual and group outfits, giving attendees an opportunity to show off everything from elaborate Halloween creations to coordinated costumes with friends.
Live music will provide entertainment throughout the evening, while Hammond’s Pretzels will be on-site and traditional ballpark concessions will be available for purchase. Jell-O shots will also be sold separately for $6 each.
Beyond the festivities, Boos and Brews serves as a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Lancaster Penn Square.
Last year’s event attracted approximately 800 guests and raised $2,500 for the organization, helping support its work on community projects across Lancaster County.
Organizers are offering three ticket categories to accommodate guests interested in the full tasting experience as well as those attending primarily for the entertainment.
VIP admission includes entry beginning at 5 p.m., an event T-shirt, a souvenir sampling glass and unlimited beverage samples throughout the five-hour VIP tasting period.
General admission includes entry at 6 p.m., a souvenir sampling glass, unlimited samples until 10 p.m., live music, and participation in the costume contest.
Designated driver tickets are also available for guests who want to enjoy the festivities without drinking alcohol. These tickets include admission, live music, the costume contest, and complimentary water throughout the evening. Food will be available for purchase.
All attendees, including designated drivers, must be at least 21 years old and present a valid government-issued photo ID.
