LANCASTER, PA — The Lancaster Stormers and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health are launching a new “Babies and Baseball” initiative that will provide newborns at Penn Medicine Women & Babies Hospital with Stormers-branded gift packages.
Beginning this year, babies born at the hospital will receive a co-branded onesie labeled “Newest Stormers Fan,” along with a gift bag containing a certificate and four ticket vouchers redeemable for any Lancaster Stormers game.
The Stormers and team mascot Cylo are scheduled to deliver 4,000 onesies and gift bags to the hospital on Thursday, May 28, at noon.
Stormers Vice President and Assistant General Manager Alexandra Bunn said the program is intended to connect local families with the baseball club from birth.
“This program is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate new life while also introducing them to the excitement of Stormers baseball,” Bunn said.
The initiative expands the partnership between the Stormers and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health beyond stadium naming rights.
Founded in 2005, the Lancaster Stormers are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an MLB Partner League that operates independently of affiliated Minor League Baseball.
The Atlantic League said it has sent more than 1,450 players to Major League Baseball organizations during its 27-year history.
The Stormers are operated by Prospector Baseball Group, which manages a network of community-based baseball clubs across the United States.
