LANCASTER, PA — Kora Behavioral Health has opened a new outpatient treatment center in Lancaster, expanding access to substance use and mental health services in a region where patients often face long wait times and limited treatment options.

The center, which officially opened June 5 and is now accepting admissions, will serve Lancaster County and the broader Central Pennsylvania region with a range of outpatient behavioral health services, including treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Kora’s offerings include a Partial Hospitalization Program, an Intensive Outpatient Program, standard outpatient services, and medication-assisted treatment. The structure is designed to allow patients to move through different levels of care while remaining connected to work, family, and community responsibilities.

The opening comes as behavioral health providers across Pennsylvania grapple with growing demand for treatment services and persistent gaps in access, particularly for outpatient programs that can serve patients who do not require inpatient care.

“Opening Kora Behavioral Health is the realization of a vision to provide accessible, high-quality care to individuals and families throughout Central Pennsylvania,” Chief Executive Officer David BiFulco said in a statement. “Lancaster and the broader Central PA region deserve treatment options that meet people where they are, close to home, close to work, and close to family.”

The center’s clinical approach incorporates evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy. Kora also offers gender-specific services, LGBTQ+ affirming care, a treatment track for executives and professionals, and family involvement programming.

Company officials said each patient receives an individualized treatment plan developed by a multidisciplinary team that addresses mental health conditions, substance use disorders, trauma, and other factors affecting recovery.

Kora said it works with most major commercial insurance carriers and offers expedited benefits verification to help patients begin treatment more quickly.

The Lancaster facility adds to the region’s behavioral health infrastructure at a time when providers and policymakers have increasingly focused on improving access to mental health and addiction treatment services closer to where patients live.
