WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming paving and utility construction on Interstate 476. This $63.7 million project aims to enhance nearly 17 miles of the interstate, spanning from the Schuylkill Expressway in West Conshohocken to I-95 in Ridley Township.

Starting Tuesday, September 3, and continuing through Friday, September 6, lane closures will occur from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Southbound traffic between the U.S. 30 and I-95 interchanges will be affected, as will northbound traffic between Route 3 and I-76 for utility work. Additionally, Rose Valley Road in Nether Providence Township will see daytime lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for bridge repairs.

The project includes resurfacing travel lanes, repairing 49 structures, and enhancing stormwater management. It also involves slope stabilization, sound wall repairs, and updates to signage and guiderails. H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA, will lead the construction, which is funded entirely by federal resources. Completion is expected by late 2025. Motorists should prepare for delays and plan accordingly, as all activities depend on favorable weather conditions.
