WILMINGTON, DE — Intel 471 announced the appointment of Michael DeBolt as President, elevating the longtime executive while he continues to serve as Chief Intelligence Officer in a dual leadership role aimed at accelerating the company’s growth in the global cyber threat intelligence market.
The cybersecurity firm said DeBolt will maintain oversight of its intelligence operations while expanding his responsibilities to drive business strategy, operational scale and market expansion.
“Michael’s distinctive skillset and professional background are unparalleled, and I am confident that his leadership will guide Intel 471 to a new echelon of business growth,” said Jason Passwaters, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Intel 471. “As our CINO, Michael has spearheaded several pivotal program launches for the company while maintaining a steadfast commitment to the professional development and improvement of his team. In his capacity as President, he will apply the same dedication, leadership, and spirit of innovation to undertake new initiatives designed to address the demands of our expanding customer base.”
DeBolt brings more than two decades of experience spanning law enforcement, intelligence and commercial cybersecurity. His background includes serving as the U.S. representative and Head of Cybercrime Intelligence at the International Criminal Police Organization, a Special Agent with the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and a U.S. Marine infantry scout leader.
Over eight years at Intel 471, DeBolt has led the development of the company’s intelligence program and provided strategic guidance to its global team, positioning the firm as a provider of insight into cybercriminal networks and underground activity. He also founded and led the creation of the Cyber Threat Intelligence Capability Maturity Model in 2024, a framework developed with 28 cybersecurity industry leaders to help organizations integrate threat intelligence into broader business objectives.
“It is a distinct privilege to be a member of a team that not only delivers superior insights to our customers and partners but is also dedicated to the advancement of the industry as a whole,” DeBolt said. “As President, I am committed to continuing to cultivate a robust culture of innovation during this period of accelerated growth.”
Intel 471 said the leadership move comes as the company seeks to expand its footprint and capitalize on increasing demand for cyber threat intelligence solutions as organizations confront more sophisticated and persistent digital threats worldwide.
