ICYMI: Free People Brings Summer Social and Outdoor Film Night to Philadelphia’s Navy Yard

Free People

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A summer evening of outdoor fun, food, and film is coming to Philadelphia’s Navy Yard as Free People invites the community to gather for an event that pairs family-friendly entertainment with support for independent documentary filmmaking.

“Feels Like Free People: A Summer Social” will take place Saturday, July 11, at Marine Parade Grounds, offering guests an evening of food trucks, lawn games, live music, giveaways, and an outdoor screening of Cookie Queens. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund.

The featured documentary follows four determined girls competing to become top cookie sellers. The film received support from Free People’s Creative Spirit Fund, an initiative that helps independent storytellers bring their projects to life. Earlier this year, the company partnered with the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program to award five women documentary filmmakers $25,000 grants for works in progress, including Cookie Queens filmmaker Alysa Nahmias.

The event is designed to be accessible for families, with children 15 and younger admitted free. Adult tickets are $5, with all proceeds supporting the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund. Guests also have the option to make an additional donation during checkout.
