COLLEGEVILLE, PA — 1031 CORP. has acquired certain business assets of 1031 Exchange Specialists, Inc., expanding its presence in southern New Jersey and the Ocean City market.
The acquisition became effective April 7, 2026, and includes the integration of client relationships and operations from the Ocean City-based exchange accommodator.
1031 CORP. said it will continue operating from the existing Ocean City location.
The company facilitates tax-deferred real estate exchanges under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code, allowing investors to defer capital gains taxes on qualifying transactions.
Clients of 1031 Exchange Specialists will transition to 1031 CORP., which will handle new exchange transactions, while the existing firm completes current exchanges before its owners retire.
George Christofely, president of 1031 Exchange Specialists, said the transition is expected to provide additional resources and support for clients.
“We are confident this transition will provide tremendous value to our clients,” Christofely said.
1031 CORP. Chief Executive Officer Margo McDonnell said the acquisition aligns with the company’s expansion strategy in regional real estate markets.
“We are excited to welcome the clients and relationships of 1031 Exchange Specialists, Inc. into our organization,” McDonnell said.
The company said clients will have access to exchange account features including segregated, interest-bearing accounts with FDIC insurance and online account visibility.
1031 CORP., based in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, provides intermediary services for real estate investors and professionals completing like-kind exchange transactions.
