WARMINSTER TWP, PA — Havis has introduced a new series of docking stations for Dell Pro Rugged 14 laptops, targeting organizations that operate mobile computing equipment in vehicles and need to upgrade existing installations without extensive hardware modifications.

The Warminster Township-based manufacturer developed the DS-DELL-1300 Series for Dell Technologies’ Pro Rugged 14 (PR514260) laptops, adding connectivity and docking features intended to support mobile operations.

The product launch expands Havis’ rugged computing accessories portfolio, which serves organizations requiring secure laptop installations and reliable communications in demanding operating environments.

The docking stations incorporate quad pass-through antenna technology, allowing compatible external antenna connections to support wireless communications while a laptop is docked.

The design also includes a spring-loaded, floating connector head intended to maintain a stable connection despite movement and vibration during vehicle operations.

A one-handed docking mechanism allows operators to secure or remove laptops without using both hands, reducing the steps required to transition between mobile and stationary work.

Havis designed the new series to replace existing docking equipment with limited changes to vehicle installations, an approach intended to reduce downtime during hardware upgrades across fleets.

The retrofit capability is particularly relevant to organizations managing multiple vehicles, where replacing installed computing equipment can involve additional labor and operational interruptions.

Josh Parah, product manager at Havis, said the company focused on improving connectivity and simplifying equipment replacement.

“With enhanced antenna pass-through capabilities, dependable one-handed docking, and an easy retrofit design, customers can upgrade their deployments with minimal disruption,” Parah said.

The DS-DELL-1300 Series combines vehicle-mounted laptop connectivity, external antenna support and a replacement-oriented design for organizations using Dell’s rugged computing platform.
