HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that the ongoing inlet repair on Lawrence Road in Haverford Township will continue next week. This work is part of a larger project to repair and pave 28 state highways across Delaware County.
From Monday, December 11, to Friday, December 15, motorists should expect a lane closure on Lawrence Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Eagle Road. The closure will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their commute due to expected slowdowns in the work area. All scheduled activities will depend on favorable weather conditions.
This pavement improvement project by PennDOT will see the milling and resurfacing of 45 miles of state highways in Delaware County with bituminous material. The new pavements aim to seal the roadways and provide a smoother riding surface for motorists.
The general contractor for this nearly $17 million resurfacing project is Allan Myers of Worcester, Montgomery County, PA. The project is financed entirely with state funds. As roadwork continues, residents and motorists are urged to exercise patience and adhere to all traffic rules for their safety and the safety of the construction workers.
