Five Arrested in Wilmington Drug Bust Following Extensive Investigation

WILMINGTON, DE — In a significant blow to local drug operations, Wilmington Police have arrested four men and one woman on various drug charges following a month-long investigation.

Members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division initiated an investigation into suspected illegal drug sales in the 600 block of North Adams Street in December. Their efforts culminated on January 12 when officers executed a search warrant on the block, resulting in the arrest of five individuals: Jeremy Selby, 37; Sheree Cunningham, 39; Eric Selby, 36; Tavar Smith, 37; and Kaevon Tucker, 20.

During the operation, officers recovered 17.3 grams of crack cocaine, 17 MDMA pills, 101.1 grams of marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia. The suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Jeremy Selby, Sheree Cunningham, and Eric Selby face multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver in Tier 2 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in Tier 2 quantity, conspiracy in the second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jeremy Selby and Cunningham are also charged with possession of a controlled substance in Tier 1 quantity.

Following their arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 20, Jeremy Selby and Cunningham were committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution and the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, respectively, on $14,100 unsecured bail each. Eric Selby was also committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $13,100 unsecured bail.

Tavar Smith faces similar charges as the Selbys, and after his arraignment, he was released on $13,100 unsecured bail. Kaevon Tucker, the youngest of the group, has been charged with possession of marijuana and was released on $100 unsecured bail following his arraignment.

As the investigation continues, further details may emerge. It should be noted that an arrest or a charge does not imply guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
