Exyn Rebrands Defense Unit as Demand Grows for Autonomous Military Systems

Exyn Technologies

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Exyn Technologies (Nasdaq: EXYN) has rebranded its defense subsidiary, Range, as Exyn Defense Inc., consolidating its military operations under a single brand as demand for autonomous systems in contested and GPS-denied environments accelerates.

The Philadelphia-based company said the move is intended to strengthen its position in government and national security markets by extending its artificial intelligence-powered autonomy and mapping software to defense customers and allied nations.

The rebranding comes as defense agencies globally increase investment in autonomous technologies for intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, logistics, and operations in environments where traditional navigation and communications systems are unavailable or disrupted.

“Rebranding Range as Exyn Defense represents the next step in the evolution of our defense business,” Chief Executive Officer Brandon Torres Declet said in a statement. He added that the company believes its “software-first, platform-agnostic approach” positions Exyn to participate in a growing market for autonomous defense capabilities.

Exyn’s software has been deployed commercially in underground mines, industrial facilities, construction sites, and critical infrastructure projects where GPS signals and existing maps are unreliable.

The company said Exyn Defense will adapt those capabilities for military applications, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, subterranean mapping, explosive ordnance disposal support, chemical and radiological reconnaissance, battle damage assessment, tactical logistics, and digital twin technologies for defense environments.

Exyn Defense plans to work with government agencies, defense contractors, and systems integrators on platform integrations and operational evaluations. The company said its software architecture is designed to work across multiple robotic platforms, reducing reliance on any single hardware provider.

“Many of the challenges we have already tackled with our commercial customers mirror the operational challenges currently facing defense organizations today,” Torres Declet said.

The rebranding aligns all defense activities under the Exyn name as the company seeks to capitalize on rising defense spending tied to autonomous systems and artificial intelligence-enabled military technologies.
