PHILADELPHIA, PA — EwingCole appointed a new executive leadership team as part of the firm’s rotating governance structure, naming John L. Capelli chief executive officer and Jason E. Fierko president.
The architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm said the transition is part of a leadership rotation model that occurs every nine years and is intended to support continuity and long-term growth.
Capelli, currently principal and director of the firm’s government practice, will oversee strategic direction and national practice alignment, according to EwingCole.
Fierko, principal and director of healthcare operations, will oversee implementation of firm strategy across offices.
Peter J. Welsh was named executive vice president and chief operating officer, while Aitor Sanchez-Prado was appointed senior vice president and Sara J. Eastman was named vice president.
Capelli said the firm plans to strengthen coordination across markets and offices.
“We are bringing our expertise together more intentionally, strengthening how we deliver work, and creating a clearer, more consistent experience for our clients across every market we serve,” Capelli said.
Fierko said the firm intends to focus on local leadership development and collaboration across offices.
The transition follows the tenure of Jared J. Loos, Robert McConnell, and Keith Fallon, who the firm said oversaw a period of expansion that included growth in geographic reach and multidisciplinary services.
Loos will become chairman of the board and treasurer, providing oversight for both EwingCole and its construction management affiliate, ECBuild.
The company said the new leadership structure is intended to support delivery standards, client engagement, and national business development across its operations.
