Essential Utilities Plans $955 Million Water Infrastructure Push

Essential Utilities

BRYN MAWR, PA — Essential Utilities Inc. (NYSE: WTRG) plans to invest approximately $955 million in water and wastewater infrastructure in 2026, directing capital toward aging water mains, regulatory compliance and system upgrades designed to address contaminants including PFAS and lead.

The planned spending through the company’s Aqua water utility represents a significant infrastructure commitment as utilities contend with aging systems and evolving water-quality requirements.

Essential disclosed the investment as part of its recognition of Water Quality Month in August. The annual observance, established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2005, focuses on the importance of water quality to public health and the environment.
