Equita Financial Network Launches Succession Planning Solution for Member Firms

Business News

FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Equita Financial Network (EquitaFN) has introduced EquitaFN Succession Advantage, a comprehensive succession planning solution aimed at helping member firms safeguard their businesses, protect client relationships, and ensure smooth leadership transitions.

Developed in partnership with Ellevate Advisors and FP Transitions, the new offering provides EquitaFN firms with personalized planning, implementation strategies, and transaction support tailored to the unique needs of advisory practices.

“Succession planning is one of the most critical but overlooked aspects of running an advisory business,” said Bridget Venus Grimes, CFP®, president of EquitaFN. “With nearly 80% of successions failing across the industry, we wanted to give our members a solution that goes beyond theory.”

The program offers three core components:

  • Ellevate Advisors’ Succession Roadmap — readiness assessments, customized action plans, quarterly milestones, and transition coaching.
  • FP Transitions’ Valuation and Transaction Expertise — certified valuations, deal structuring, and full legal documentation to streamline ownership changes.
  • EquitaFN’s Matching Platform (launching early 2026) — access to a curated pool of like-minded successor firms to support continuity and shared values.

Brooklyn Brock, founder of Ellevate Advisors, highlighted the partnership’s alignment with EquitaFN’s mission to support women-led firms, while Stuart Smith of FP Transitions noted the importance of combining personalized planning with robust legal and financial infrastructure.

EquitaFN members have already expressed enthusiasm for the initiative. Kim Spencer, CFP®, CDFA, owner of Next Step Financial, said the solution provides the tools and confidence needed to design a plan that protects clients, employees, and business value.

The program is available immediately to EquitaFN members, with Ellevate services offered at no cost and FP Transitions services included when successor firms remain on the Equita platform. A complimentary webinar, Protecting Your Legacy: Why Succession Planning is Especially Critical for Women-Led Firms, will be held on October 16 at 4 p.m. EST.

“Succession is more than a transaction—it’s about legacy, values, and ensuring clients and employees thrive long after a founder steps away,” Grimes added.
