Enigma Networks Extends Zero Trust to Internal Cyber Threats

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Enigma Networks is expanding its cybersecurity platform to automatically restrict communications and isolate threats inside corporate networks, positioning the Summer 2026 release of Enigma AI around the growing risk that attackers can move rapidly through an organization after breaching perimeter defenses.

The Philadelphia company’s latest software connects its Internal Trust Governance technology directly with security enforcement tools, allowing Enigma AI to determine which communications between internal assets should be permitted and automatically apply those decisions through existing cybersecurity infrastructure.

The approach targets lateral movement, in which an attacker who gains access to one system uses internal connections and permissions to reach other systems. Enigma argues that advances in artificial intelligence are increasing the speed of attacks and making manual responses less effective.

“AI has shattered the illusion that we can keep attackers out,” co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Bob Moul stated. “The defining challenge now is limiting the damage when they get in.”

The release expands integrations with existing firewall and endpoint-security platforms. Enigma AI can generate least-privilege segmentation policies based on observed communications and use firewall controls from Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks to restrict unnecessary connections.

The platform can also trigger endpoint isolation through endpoint detection and response systems such as CrowdStrike when an asset violates established trust policies or is identified as a threat.

Enigma AI continuously validates those controls as applications, devices and network communications change. It also maintains records of trust changes, policy violations and enforcement actions for compliance, investigations and reconstruction of cyber incidents.

A central component of the release is greater automation of micro-segmentation, a security practice that divides networks into smaller zones and limits communications among systems.

Deploying micro-segmentation traditionally requires organizations to map application dependencies, establish policies and continually maintain rules as their technology environments change. Enigma is using AI to automate parts of that process by learning the roles and behavior of network assets and generating least-privilege policies.

“Organizations accumulated enormous numbers of trusted connections over decades, and attackers learned to use those connections as infrastructure for lateral movement,” co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Mark Viglione stated.

The company is positioning the technology as an internal security control plane that works with cybersecurity products organizations already operate rather than requiring enforcement exclusively through Enigma’s own infrastructure.

The Summer 2026 version of Enigma AI is available immediately to customers and partners worldwide.
