EAGLEVILLE, PA — Encompass Health has opened a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Lower Providence Township, expanding the company’s Pennsylvania network to 11 locations and adding rehabilitation capacity for patients in Montgomery County and surrounding communities.
The more than 54,000-square-foot Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lower Providence is accepting patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.
Patients receive at least three hours of physical, occupational and/or speech therapy five days a week, along with physician visits and 24-hour nursing care. Nurses, therapists and physicians develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ recovery goals.
The hospital includes private patient rooms, a therapy gym, an activities-of-daily-living suite, an in-house dialysis suite, a therapy courtyard, dining facilities, an in-house pharmacy and dayroom areas.
The Lower Providence facility extends the footprint of Encompass Health, which describes itself as the nation’s largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals.
“We are excited to open Encompass Health Lower Providence, expanding access to high-quality inpatient rehabilitation care for patients and families in Montgomery County and the surrounding communities,” Northeast Region President Mat Gooch stated.
The hospital’s rehabilitation programs are intended to help patients regain functional ability and independence following serious injuries and medical conditions.
