COLUMBIA, PA — Starting this fall, the Columbia Borough School District (CBSD) will entrust the transportation of approximately 100 special needs students to Durham School Services, marking the beginning of a two-year partnership aimed at enhancing school transportation within the community.
Durham School Services, known for its commitment to safety and reliability, will manage 14 routes tailored to meet the unique needs of these students. The company is gearing up to ensure the utmost safety by equipping all buses with advanced technologies, including DriveCam Intelligent Fleet Camera Systems and Zonar Fleet Management and GPS System.
Keith D. Ramsey, Business Manager of CBSD, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of safe and dependable transportation for students. “We are excited to have Durham School Services join the CBSD team,” Ramsey stated, highlighting the district’s commitment to its students’ well-being.
Durham School Services, which already serves five communities in Pennsylvania, views this partnership as an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the state. Bob Scarpa, Region Manager, underscored the significance of this new relationship, stating, “We pride ourselves on our service excellence and our rich history. Our team is in great anticipation of this new journey with the CBSD.”
