PennDOT said the ramps from northbound I-476 and eastbound I-76 to Matsonford Road will be closed overnight in West Conshohocken Borough and Lower Merion Township.
During the closures, drivers will be directed to follow posted detour routes. Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays near the interchange and plan extra time for overnight trips.
Drivers also are reminded that additional overnight lane closures will continue through Friday, June 5, on sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges in Montgomery and Delaware counties.
Those weeknight restrictions will run from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM for milling, paving, bridge repair, and guiderail replacement operations.
The ongoing work is part of PennDOT’s $63.7 million project to resurface, repair, and improve nearly 17 miles of I-476 and associated ramps and bridges.
According to PennDOT, the project includes repairs to 49 structures, upgrades to stormwater management basins, sound wall repairs, inlet replacements, and installation of new pavement markings, rumble strips, guiderail, signage, and roadway delineators.
Officials said the improvements are designed to extend the life of the interstate while improving ride quality and overall safety along the heavily traveled corridor.
H&K Group, Inc., based in Skippack, Pennsylvania, is serving as the project’s general contractor. The project is funded entirely through federal dollars.
PennDOT warned that all scheduled work is weather dependent. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes whenever possible and remain alert in active construction zones.
