Delaware State Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Wilmington Smoke Shop

WILMINGTON, DE — An armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night at a local smoke shop is currently under investigation by the Delaware State Police. The incident took place at Apollo Smoke Shop, located at 3613 Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington.

At around 7:55 p.m. on December 12, 2023, troopers were dispatched following a report of an armed robbery at the smoke shop. Preliminary investigations revealed that an unidentified white male suspect approached an employee within the store. He reportedly pulled out a handgun from his waistband and demanded the employee empty the cash register.

In compliance with the threatening demand, the employee handed over an undisclosed amount of money. Subsequently, the suspect made his escape on foot, heading eastbound towards Greenbank Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, who was armed with a handgun during the alleged crime. Despite ongoing attempts to secure surveillance video and images from the scene, none are available at this time.

Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to probe the incident. Detectives are urging anyone with any information that could assist this case to contact Detective D.
