DELAWARE — The Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs is set to host a fantastic lineup of events throughout December at various museums and historic sites across the state. From crafting activities to live music, there’s something for everyone this holiday season.

At the John Dickinson Plantation, visitors can explore traditional handcrafts with demonstrations by the Thistledown Fiber Arts Guild on Saturday, December 9. The program, which includes spinning, weaving, knitting, and more, runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a group meeting from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Mansion Dining Room.

On December 16, join in for ‘Handmade for the Holidays’ and learn the art of paper quilling. Create a festive holiday card at the John Dickinson Plantation Visitors Center from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The New Castle Court House Museum is joining in the town-wide Spirit of Christmas celebration on Saturday, December 9. Alongside regular tours, the museum will host a traditional Swedish Dala Horse crafting activity from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Music lovers won’t want to miss the Friends of Folk Concert at the Old State House Museum on Friday, December 8. Featuring Newark-born musician Ty Mathis, the concert promises an eclectic mix of soul, folk rock, R&B, funk, disco, and psychedelia from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Finally, the Zwaanendael Museum invites guests for a special Holiday Tour on Saturday, December 2. Enjoy the museum’s festive holiday décor from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, held in conjunction with the Lewes Historical Society’s Christmas Tour.
