Delaware County to Experience Travel Restrictions Due to Aqua Pennsylvania Utility Construction

Travel Restrictions

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Residents of Delaware County need to prepare for travel restrictions as Aqua Pennsylvania announces plans for utility construction on several state highways. The upcoming work aims to enhance the region’s infrastructure, improving services for Delaware County residents.

Beginning Monday, November 20, and continuing until Friday, March 29, 2024, motorists can expect a lane closure with flagging on Rose Valley Road between Thornpath Lane and Prices Lane in Rose Valley Borough and Nether Providence Township. The restrictions will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Furthermore, a weekday closure is scheduled on Conestoga Road between Lowrys Lane and Glenbrook Avenue in Radnor Township. This closure will begin on Monday, November 27, and will continue until Friday, June 28, 2024. During this period, motorists will be directed to use Route 320 (Sproul Road), U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue), and County Line Road. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.

Aqua Pennsylvania advises motorists to allow extra time when traveling through or near these areas due to anticipated backups and delays. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent and subject to change.

These projects fall under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. This planned work aligns with Aqua Pennsylvania’s recent investment in Delaware County and aims to assist Aqua Pennsylvania in meeting regulatory standards while improving the county’s infrastructure.

While these restrictions may cause temporary inconvenience, the long-term benefits include improved utilities and infrastructure for the residents of Delaware County. Motorists are urged to exercise patience and adhere to the directions provided by traffic management personnel during this period.
