PHILADELPHIA, PA — Datavault AI (NASDAQ: DVLT) has appointed cybersecurity veteran and Arqit co-founder Dr. Barry Childe as chief information security officer, adding leadership in quantum-resistant security as the company expands its data monetization, credentialing and real-world asset tokenization platforms.
The company stated Childe will oversee its cybersecurity strategy, data protection and secure infrastructure, with responsibility for safeguarding the platforms that support tokenization, data valuation and digital asset monetization. His role also includes advancing the company’s work in artificial intelligence security and post-quantum cryptography.
The appointment comes as companies developing tokenized digital assets and AI-enabled platforms face increasing pressure to strengthen cybersecurity and prepare for future threats posed by quantum computing, which could undermine conventional encryption methods.
Childe brings more than four decades of experience in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, distributed-ledger technology and high-performance computing.
Before joining Datavault AI, he served as a Distinguished Engineer at HSBC, where he led blockchain and innovation initiatives. His previous roles also include senior technology positions at Barclays Capital, The Royal Bank of Scotland and VMware. He later co-founded Arqit, a company focused on quantum-encryption technology, and contributed to enterprise blockchain platforms including R3 Corda and We.Trade.
