Customers Bank Ranks Among Top 2.5% for Banking Innovation

Customers Bank

WEST READING, PA — Customers Bank, a nearly $27 billion financial institution and subsidiary of Customers Bancorp Inc. (NYSE: CUBI), has been recognized among the top 2.5% of eligible U.S. banks for technology adoption and financial performance in a 2026 industry assessment conducted by fintech analytics firm FedFis.

The bank was one of 107 institutions selected from more than 4,261 U.S. banks with less than $30 billion in assets, according to FedFis, which developed the rankings in partnership with Bankers Helping Bankers.

The assessment uses FedFis’ proprietary Innovation Score, which evaluates financial performance, technology adoption and execution relative to banks of comparable size.

Unlike industry awards that rely on applications or nominations, the selection process uses financial and technology data collected by FedFis. Banks cannot apply for consideration or pay to participate.

The methodology is designed to identify institutions that combine technology investments with measurable financial performance rather than assessing innovation solely through the introduction of new products or digital services.

For Customers Bank, the recognition places its technology strategy and operating performance among a relatively small group of similarly sized financial institutions.

“Performance has to be earned in the data, not just claimed,” said Sam Sidhu, president and chief executive officer of Customers Bank. “FedFis’ analysis is entirely data-driven, which makes it a meaningful proof point for our single point of contact model and technology transformation.”

Sidhu said the bank intends to continue investing in technology and personnel to support its customer service and operating model.

FedFis has tracked financial performance, technology-vendor relationships and financial technology partnerships across U.S. banks and credit unions since 1999.

Its Bankers Helping Bankers platform was developed in partnership with the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and participating state banking associations to support information sharing among financial institutions.

The 2026 designation reflects Customers Bank’s standing within its asset-size peer group under FedFis’ scoring methodology.
