Construction to Cause Delays on Route 3 in Delaware County Next Week

Traffic Alert

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that roadway construction will continue next week on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Newtown Township.

From Monday, June 10, through Friday, June 14, lane closures are scheduled in both directions between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue. The closures will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.

Motorists should expect backups and delays in the area and are advised to allow extra travel time. All construction activities depend on the weather.

This work is part of a local safety improvement project aimed at enhancing Route 3. PennDOT seeks to complete this phase efficiently while minimizing inconvenience to drivers.
