PHILADELPHIA, PA — Comcast Business and Colt Technology Services are developing an automated system for ordering and managing enterprise network connections across multiple continents, targeting the delays and costs associated with coordinating services among international telecommunications carriers.
The collaboration will link Comcast Business’s network orchestration platform with Colt’s international infrastructure through standardized application programming interfaces, allowing multinational companies to qualify locations, obtain pricing and initiate service across both networks through a coordinated process.
The companies are building the system around Mplify’s Lifecycle Service Orchestration standards, which are intended to support interoperability among carriers without requiring separate, customized integrations.
The initiative represents the first international carrier partnership established through the Comcast Business Innovation Lab, which launched in April 2026.
Colt’s network is expected to extend the platform’s reach across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, connecting those markets with Comcast Business’s North American operations.
The program also incorporates artificial intelligence agents that could identify available connections, initiate orders and assist with service fulfillment through controlled, automated workflows.
The companies plan to test the integrated system with enterprise customers in live operating environments, beginning with a defined group of products and markets before expanding to additional network services.
The effort targets a recurring operational challenge for multinational businesses: procuring and activating connectivity across different carriers and geographic regions through processes that often require manual coordination.
As companies expand AI-related workloads and supporting infrastructure, the partners are positioning automated network provisioning as a way to deploy services more quickly and manage operations across multiple jurisdictions.
“How enterprises build and operate their networks has become one of the most consequential technology decisions a company makes,” Comcast Business Chief Product Officer Bob Victor stated.
Colt Vice President of Technology and Innovation Mirko Voltolini indicated that the partnership is designed to eliminate operational barriers between carriers.
“By linking our platforms through open, standards-based APIs, Colt and Comcast Business are removing complexity, streamlining procurement and service management,” Voltolini stated.
Comcast Business and Colt have both received recent Mplify Network-as-a-Service awards, with Comcast recognized for its North American strategy and Colt named global service provider of the year.
