RADNOR, PA — CME Outfitters and Zealic Health are developing a clinical training and operational support program to help healthcare providers prepare for the potential introduction of FDA-approved psychedelic therapies, addressing treatment requirements that could affect staffing, patient safety, and care delivery.
The collaboration combines CME Outfitters’ accredited medical education programs with Zealic Health’s clinical technology platform to help healthcare organizations establish procedures for administering psychedelic treatments if they receive regulatory approval.
The initiative is supported by an educational grant from Compass Pathways, a developer of investigational psychedelic therapies, according to the companies.
Mark S. Gold, a physician and researcher specializing in addiction medicine and neuroscience, will chair the educational program.
The initiative comes as investigational psychedelic treatments advance through clinical development, raising questions about how healthcare facilities would incorporate therapies requiring specialized training, patient monitoring, and coordination among medical professionals.
Unlike conventional prescription treatments, some psychedelic-assisted therapies may require healthcare organizations to establish additional procedures governing treatment administration, clinical supervision, and patient follow-up.
CME Outfitters will develop and deliver accredited education for physicians and other healthcare professionals, focusing on clinical evidence, treatment considerations and responsibilities across multidisciplinary care teams.
Zealic Health will provide operational support through MindfulOS, its technology platform designed to help healthcare organizations manage treatment workflows, coordinate care and implement clinical procedures.
The companies intend to connect professional education with operational planning so healthcare facilities can identify potential implementation problems before introducing new treatments.
“We don’t want the operational complexity of delivering a new model of care to become another burden on clinicians or get in the way of good patient care,” said Casey Bennett, chief operating officer and co-founder of Zealic Health.
“Our goal with MindfulOS is to make it easier for clinicians to put what they’ve learned into practice by giving them the structure, guidance, and support they need within the realities of day-to-day care,” Bennett said.
The program will incorporate perspectives from people who may be affected by psychedelic therapy, alongside clinical research and professional education.
Gold brings more than five decades of experience in translational neuroscience and addiction medicine, including research on substance use disorders and psychiatric treatment.
He has authored more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications and has worked on research and editorial projects involving psychedelic and interventional psychiatry.
Gold received the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award, among other professional honors.
CME Outfitters, an accredited continuing medical education provider, will oversee the educational component of the collaboration, while Zealic Health will focus on translating training into clinical operations.
Sharon Tordoff, executive vice president and founder of CME Outfitters, said the partnership is intended to address the gap between professional training and treatment delivery.
“Clinician education isn’t the finish line; it’s the starting point for what happens at the bedside,” Tordoff said.
The initiative is designed to prepare healthcare organizations for potential changes in psychiatric treatment rather than support the immediate deployment of a newly approved psychedelic therapy.
The treatments addressed by the program remain investigational, and their integration into routine clinical practice will depend on FDA approval and applicable treatment requirements.
