PHILADELPHIA, PA — New Ridge Brewing Company and the Roxborough Development Corporation are brewing up a special event to honor Women’s History Month. “Cheers to Women: A Celebration of History, Brews, and Community” will take place on Saturday, March 23rd, from 12 to 4 pm at New Ridge Brewing Company and Roxborough Pocket Park.

This unique celebration will feature one of the country’s leading beer historians and female beer pioneers, Tara Nurin. The author of the award-winning book “A Woman’s Place is in the Brewhouse: A Forgotten History of Alewives, Brewsters, Witches and CEOs,” Nurin will be present for a book signing and discussion.

The event also promises a showcase of local women-owned businesses, a vendor market, and live music performances to create a lively atmosphere. Food and drink enthusiasts can look forward to various features and specials with a pay-as-you-go option.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Tara Nurin and celebrate the achievements of women in our community,” said Eric Endrikat, Co-Owner of New Ridge Brewing Company. “This event is a wonderful opportunity to support and showcase the incredible women who contribute to our local culture and economy.”

In addition to celebrating women’s contributions to the beer industry and the local community, the event will also support a noble cause. A portion of the proceeds from the day will benefit the Roxborough Home for Women, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting women in need within the community.

Jacqueline Cusack, Executive Director of the Roxborough Development Corporation, said, “We are thrilled to highlight our local women-owned/run businesses and support a great cause in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of women in need.”
