POTTSTOWN, PA — As the holiday season approaches, Pottsgrove Manor is inviting Montgomery County residents to step back in time and partake in historic yuletide traditions. The Manor is offering Twelfth Night guided tours and hosting its special annual event, the Frost Fair.

From Friday, November 24 through Friday, January 7, visitors can witness the transformation of Pottsgrove Manor for the yuletide season during regular museum hours. Experience the excitement and charm of an 18th-century Twelfth Night party, a celebration marking the end of the Christmastide season on Epiphany.

These guided tours offer an immersive historical experience, revealing how elite families like the Potts and their household staff experienced the holiday season. From preparing the Twelfth Night Cake in the kitchen to arranging elegant desserts and decorations in the parlor, guests will get a comprehensive view of holiday merriment in colonial times. You may even recognize some holiday tunes still sung by modern carolers!

On Sunday, December 10, Pottsgrove Manor will hold its 18th Century Holiday Frost Fair from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. This festive event invites guests to engage in colonial games, enjoy historic puppet shows and musical entertainments, and learn about the history of Pennsylvania cider from cider historian Mark Turdo.

Stroll through the grounds and interact with historical vendors and demonstrators, or explore the museum where living history interpreters bring the holiday season to life. The Frost Fair also hosts a Holiday Market featuring local vendors selling unique gifts such as soaps, textiles, home décor, books, and more.

The Frost Fair is weather-dependent and suitable for all ages. A suggested donation of $2 per person is encouraged. For parking, visitors are advised to use Pottstown Memorial Park and take the complimentary Visitor Shuttle to the grounds.
