CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Boomi secured the highest strategy score among 13 enterprise software providers evaluated in Forrester’s third-quarter 2026 assessment of adaptive process orchestration platforms, strengthening its competitive position in a market increasingly focused on managing artificial intelligence-driven business operations.
The Conshohocken-based software company was one of four vendors designated as Leaders in The Forrester Wave: Adaptive Process Orchestration Software, Q3 2026, according to Boomi.
The evaluation examined software platforms that help organizations coordinate automated processes across applications, data systems and AI technologies while adapting to changing operational requirements.
Boomi received the highest possible scores in six evaluation criteria: design environment, adaptivity architecture, innovation, roadmap, adoption, and operational observability, control and governance.
Forrester cited the company’s development strategy, including investments in data sovereignty and its ability to accommodate customer requirements across different geographic markets.
The research firm described Boomi’s product roadmap as “driven by a strong internal innovation process that embraces partner input and customer feedback.”
The assessment also identified Boomi’s vendor-neutral approach to AI automation as a factor in its expansion into the process orchestration market.
That strategy allows enterprises to manage automated processes involving different technology providers and AI models rather than relying exclusively on a single vendor’s infrastructure.
Forrester pointed to Boomi’s acquisition of Lunar.dev, an AI gateway platform, as part of the company’s expansion into AI-enabled process automation.
The report also assessed Boomi’s ability to modify automated processes as business requirements change, including switching large language models and adjusting access to enterprise data.
“Boomi has all the required features to adapt automated processes to demand changes rapidly and comprehensively,” Forrester stated.
The company’s platform also received favorable assessments for its low-code development environment, which includes DevOps integration, embedded context management, audit logging and unified monitoring.
Those capabilities are intended to help enterprises develop and supervise automated workflows while maintaining visibility into system operations and data access.
Boomi’s Enterprise Platform combines application integration, API management, data management and AI agent governance to coordinate processes across different enterprise systems.
The platform also incorporates Model Context Protocol management, supporting connections between AI applications and external tools or data sources.
Ed Macosky, Boomi’s chief product and technology officer, said the company’s development priorities include providing enterprises with greater oversight of AI-driven automation.
“We believe this recognition reflects our continued investment in an open, vendor-neutral platform that helps enterprises orchestrate agentic AI and automation with the control, visibility, and trust required for production,” Macosky said.
The Forrester evaluation places Boomi among a group of enterprise software providers competing to supply the infrastructure businesses use to deploy, coordinate and govern increasingly complex automated operations.
