Boomi Gains Gartner Recognition as AI Governance Demand Grows

Boomi

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Boomi has been named a Leader in Gartner’s 2026 Magic Quadrant for API Management, strengthening its position in enterprise software as businesses seek greater control over the interfaces connecting artificial intelligence systems to corporate data and applications.

The Conshohocken-based software company said the recognition reflects its investment in managing application programming interfaces, or APIs, across multiple cloud environments and technology providers.

APIs allow software applications to exchange information and execute functions. Their management has become increasingly important as businesses deploy AI agents capable of interacting with internal systems and performing automated tasks.

Boomi’s API Management platform provides centralized oversight of those connections, including the ability to discover APIs operating across distributed gateways and identify previously undocumented or inactive interfaces.

The technology is designed to give organizations a consolidated inventory of their APIs while enforcing security policies, controlling traffic and monitoring usage.

“APIs are how AI actually reaches the systems that run a business, and that makes API management the difference between an AI pilot and an AI program,” said Steve Lucas, Boomi’s chairman and chief executive officer.

The platform also supports the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, which enables AI applications and agents to interact with external tools and enterprise systems.

Boomi said its technology allows organizations to register and manage MCP-enabled tools across different providers, bringing oversight of AI agents and the APIs they use into a common management environment.

The company’s API management capabilities are integrated with its broader enterprise software platform, which includes Boomi Agentstudio, Data Hub and Data Integration.

That integration allows customers to manage AI agents, data connections and application interfaces within the same software environment rather than relying on separate management systems.

Boomi API Management also includes natural-language API design, no-code development tools, security and quality scoring, and analytics for monitoring API performance and usage.

The platform supports deployment across Boomi infrastructure, cloud environments and third-party gateways.

The Gartner recognition adds to Boomi’s position in the research firm’s Magic Quadrant for Integration Platform as a Service, where the company said it has been classified as a Leader for 12 consecutive evaluations.

Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reports assess technology vendors based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision.

Boomi is positioning its combined API management and AI governance capabilities as businesses expand automated workflows that require controlled access to enterprise applications and information.
