LANCASTER, PA — The Benecon Group has appointed veteran healthcare executive Michael Sullivan as Chief Commercial Officer, a move aimed at accelerating the national rollout of its VERIS consortium solution.
Sullivan brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the healthcare and insurance sectors, with senior roles at Independence Health Group, AmeriHealth Administrators, and Highmark. His background in stop-loss, third-party administration, product strategy, and large-scale growth initiatives positions him to oversee Benecon’s commercial operations during a period of strategic expansion.
VERIS is an independent consortium model that uses actuarial analysis and underwriting precision to deliver sustainable health plan performance. By leveraging data-driven design and collective stop-loss purchasing power, the platform has built a decade-long track record of cost predictability and risk protection for employers.
As CCO, Sullivan will spearhead Benecon’s go-to-market strategy, driving advisor engagement, channel development, regional growth, and strategic partnerships. He emphasized his focus on deepening relationships with advisors and employers, while scaling the platform’s reach nationwide.
Benecon’s private equity partners, TA Associates and Neuberger Berman Private Markets, described the appointment as a clear signal of the company’s growth ambitions. Executives from both firms pointed to Sullivan’s commercial acumen and national network as key assets for positioning VERIS as a market leader in self-funded healthcare solutions.
The move comes as demand for scalable, predictable health plan models grows, with Benecon aiming to capitalize on that momentum to establish VERIS as a dominant player in the sector.
