KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions reported higher employee engagement in its latest workplace survey, with its score rising three percentage points to 85% as the company secured Great Place To Work certification for a second consecutive year.
The certification is based on employee feedback collected by Great Place To Work. Participation also reached 85% in the latest survey, according to the company.
Among respondents, 87% agreed with the statement, “Taking everything into account, I would say this is a great place to work.” That compares with 57% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company, according to the Great Place To Work benchmark cited by BCBS Global Solutions.
The results come as the King of Prussia-based organization has been changing its brand, introducing products and services and investing in growth. The company reported that employee engagement improved during that period.
Employees also gave particularly high marks to measures involving belonging and respectful treatment, according to BCBS Global Solutions. The company did not provide individual scores for those categories.
More than 560 employee comments were submitted through the survey, providing management with qualitative feedback alongside the engagement measures.
“We view employee feedback as one of our most valuable sources of insight,” Chief People Officer Jennifer Brown stated. “The more than 560 comments employees shared through this year’s survey give us a clearer understanding of what is working well and where we have opportunities to improve.”
Chief Executive Officer Diego Fernández linked the improvement to the company’s ability to maintain employee engagement while undergoing organizational changes.
“Improving our engagement score during this period speaks to the strength of our culture and the commitment our employees bring to one another and to the customers we serve,” Fernández stated.
Great Place To Work evaluates workplace culture using employee experience data and issues certifications based on survey results. The latest designation marks the second straight year BCBS Global Solutions has received the certification.
