HATBORO, PA — Azzur Group has announced significant leadership changes in its cGMP microbiology and analytical laboratories, naming Joy Ghosh, PhD, and Jeffrey Pavlicek, PhD, as Senior Directors of Laboratory Services in Schnecksville, PA, and Raleigh, respectively. Both leaders will oversee operations and client services at their respective facilities.
Joy Ghosh brings over 15 years of experience in the life sciences industry, covering research, product development, production, and manufacturing. Before joining Azzur Group, Ghosh was the Director of Key Strategic Accounts Management at GenScript. He holds a doctorate in molecular and cell biology from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in zoology from the University of Calcutta. Ghosh succeeds Todd McEvoy, PhD, who has been promoted to Vice President of Lab Testing Services, overseeing Azzur’s national lab operations.
Jeffrey Pavlicek joins Azzur Group from Pfizer, where he served as Associate Research Fellow of Bioprocess Research and Development and Site Lead of the Research Triangle Park, NC location. With more than 17 years in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, Pavlicek has led scientific teams at Pfizer, CSL Seqirus, and Novartis, focusing on cell culture, virology, and gene therapy. He earned his doctorate in microbiology and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Arizona State University. Pavlicek succeeds Jorge Marques-Signes, PhD, who became Vice President of Advanced Therapeutics in January 2024.
