Attempted Armed Robbery at North Wilmington Dunkin’ Donuts Under Investigation

WILMINGTON, DE — The Delaware State Police are actively investigating an attempted armed robbery that unfolded at a Dunkin’ Donuts in north Wilmington on the evening of December 14, 2023.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 4:58 p.m. at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 1700 Marsh Road. The preliminary investigation has revealed that an unidentified female suspect allegedly entered the store and threatened the baristas with a knife. The suspect reportedly demanded money from the victims under threat of violence.

In a brave act of defiance, the victims did not comply with the suspect’s demands and managed to escape by running away. Following this, the suspect is said to have fled the scene in an unknown direction. Despite a thorough search of the area, state troopers were unable to locate her. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black female who was armed with a knife at the time of the alleged crime. As of now, there are no available surveillance videos or images to aid in identifying her.
