ATIXA and NABITA Launch New Credentialing Programs for Title IX and BIT Pros

Association of Title IX Administrators

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) and the National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment (NABITA) announced the launch of new professional credentialing programs designed to elevate standards of practice in Title IX compliance, behavioral intervention, and higher education administration.

The programs aim to move beyond traditional certifications by assessing practitioners on role-specific competencies — including applied decision-making, technical expertise, and ethical leadership — through rigorous evaluation and ongoing professional benchmarks.

“Credentialing is a game-changer for professionals seeking to establish themselves as leaders in their field,” said Brett A. Sokolow, J.D., Chair of the TNG Board and ATIXA Advisory Board. “It reflects a practitioner’s dedication to serving students, faculty, and staff with excellence and care while demonstrating an ongoing commitment to their professional growth and development.”

ATIXA’s credentialing tracks include distinctions such as Credentialed Coordinator (ATIXA-CC), Credentialed Investigator (ATIXA-CI), and Credentialed Decision-Maker (ATIXA-CDM). NABITA offers credentials including Credentialed BIT Chair (NABITA-CC), Credentialed Team Member (NABITA-CTM), Credentialed Case Manager (NABITA-CM), and Credentialed Violence Risk Assessor (NABITA-CVRA).

Credential holders must complete 60 hours of professional maintenance every three years to remain in good standing — a requirement designed to ensure ongoing alignment with evolving best practices in Title IX administration, compliance, and behavioral threat assessment.

Together, ATIXA and NABITA’s initiatives highlight the growing professionalization of the field, providing institutions with a clear framework to identify, train, and retain qualified Title IX and behavioral intervention professionals who meet nationally recognized standards of excellence.
