Ascensus

DRESHER, PA — Ascensus was recognized with multiple industry awards, including top rankings in the 2026 PLANSPONSOR Defined Contribution Survey and a PLANADVISER Adviser Choice Award, the company announced Thursday.

The firm ranked No. 1 in all categories for retirement plans under $5 million in assets and placed among the top three providers across all categories for plans between $5 million and $25 million, according to the PLANSPONSOR survey. Ascensus also ranked among the top providers based on Net Promoter Score across all categories up to $200 million in plan assets.

For larger plans, the company earned top-three rankings for those between $50 million and $200 million and placed in the top five for plans ranging from $25 million to $50 million. In total, Ascensus received 35 Best-in-Class awards across four evaluation categories covering Participant Services, Plan Administration, Sponsor Services and Support, and Investments and Fees.

The survey results were based on responses from 4,387 plan sponsors across a range of industries and asset sizes.

Separately, 158 financial advisors recognized Ascensus for “Excellence in Recordkeeping” in the PLANADVISER Adviser Choice Awards, marking the fourth consecutive year the company received that distinction.

“Employers have a critical role to play in addressing America’s retirement savings challenge,” said Nick Good, chief executive officer of Ascensus. “Because every company is different, retirement solutions should be flexible enough to meet a range of needs.”

The company attributed the recognition in part to recent changes in its digital client experience, including updates to onboarding, payroll processing, and compliance tools.

Ascensus said enhancements to its onboarding process reduced setup time for solo(k) plans and improved submission accuracy, while payroll system updates reduced service-related phone calls by 40% and improved ease-of-use scores. The company also introduced a compliance tool that allows plan sponsors to identify and correct data issues in real time.

Ascensus provides retirement, education savings, and insurance-related services to more than 16 million individuals and reported $932 billion in assets under administration as of December 31, 2025. The company employs more than 5,000 people.
