RONKS, PA — From hand-churned butter and Pennsylvania beef jerky to small-batch chocolates, candles, and locally inspired art, two October afternoons at The Shoppes at Miller’s will give visitors a chance to meet the people behind some distinctly Pennsylvania-made goods.
Artisan Days return Saturday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 24, inviting guests to browse handcrafted products, sample locally made foods and watch traditional quilting demonstrations while exploring the shops along Lincoln Highway East.
The two dates will feature different groups of makers, giving each afternoon its own mix of flavors, artwork, and handcrafted finds.
On Oct. 3, Pepe Saya will showcase butter and cheeses made with cream and milk from local Amish farms, while Weaver’s of Wellsboro brings its Pennsylvania-made beef jerky. Local artist Robert Wagner, who designed the PA 250 bell at Rockford, will feature locally themed shirts and artwork.
The Oct. 24 gathering will turn toward fall entertaining and holiday gift-giving. Miesse Candies, a Lancaster County confectioner dating to 1875, will offer its small-batch chocolates and caramels. Handcrafted by Grace will bring infused olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and artisan spice blends, while By Candle Light will feature farmhouse-style candles made with 100% soy wax.
Throughout both Artisan Days, guests can meet participating makers on the Locally Made Food Shop deck and sample select Pennsylvania-made foods. Inside The Quilt Shop at Miller’s, local quilters will demonstrate hand quilting.

The events also offer an early opportunity for holiday shopping. The Shoppes at Miller’s includes Anna’s Gifts & Sundries, Locally Made Food Shop, The Quilt Shop at Miller’s, Ruthie’s and Miller’s Smorgasbord, with merchandise ranging from handstitched quilts and jewelry to foods, home décor and other locally connected gifts.
Miller’s will also run a holiday gift card promotion during Artisan Days. Customers who purchase $50 in Miller’s gift cards will receive $10 in Bonus Bucks, while a $100 gift card purchase comes with $25 in Bonus Bucks.
For visitors, the appeal goes beyond simply filling a shopping bag. Artisan Days are designed to put faces and stories behind the products, offering an autumn afternoon built around tasting, watching, browsing and learning more about the craftsmanship that continues to shape Lancaster County.
