Arrest Made in Brutal Stabbing; Son Charged With Attempted Homicide

EAST LANSDOWNE, PA — The East Lansdowne Police Department announced the arrest of a 38-year-old man after the stabbing of an elderly woman on Unit block of Beverly Ave.

Clifford Pendleton has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Attempt-Homicide, and other related crimes.

The criminal complaint alleges that on May 30, 2023, at approximately 12:34 pm, the Police were dispatched to a residence on Beverly Ave for a stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers found the victim, an elderly female, with lacerations on or about her head and face area. Suffering from heavy blood loss, the victim was transported to Penn Presbyterian Emergency Center for treatment. The victim advised police officers that her son, Clifford Pendleton was her attacker.

Shortly afterward, officers observed Pendleton driving the victim’s stolen car past her residence. Officers attempted to catch up to Pendleton to initiate a traffic stop, at which point Pendleton fled the area. The Officer located Pendleton at the intersection of Long Lane and Radbourne Rd where he struck a motorcyclist causing serious bodily injury. Pendleton then fled the area on foot, where he was apprehended after a foot chase by Officers.

Pendleton was remanded to George Hill Correction facility with no bail.
