Armed Carjacking: Two Young Teens Apprehended by Wilmington Police

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of two male juveniles in connection with a carjacking incident.

The criminal complaint alleges that on October 19, at approximately 10:36 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1100 block of South Rodney Street, in reference to an armed carjacking that had just occurred. Responding officers provided a description of the suspects and the vehicle, which was located in the 800 block of North Harrison Street. Subsequently, officers took a 12-year-old male juvenile and a 14-year-old male juvenile into custody without incident.

The 12-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Robbery (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $127,000 cash-only bail.

The 14-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Robbery (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $127,000 cash-only bail.
