PHILADELPHIA, PA — Aramark Collegiate Hospitality will take over dining, retail, catering and hospitality operations at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs under a long-term agreement that expands the Philadelphia-based company’s higher-education business into the University of Colorado System.
The agreement marks Aramark Collegiate Hospitality’s first partnership within the four-campus University of Colorado System and adds to its operations in Colorado.
At UCCS, Aramark will oversee campus dining and retail food service, as well as catering and event hospitality. The scope includes operations at the Ent Center for the Performing Arts.
The university plans to introduce additional retail dining options and expanded food and beverage offerings through the partnership. The program will combine Aramark concepts with national brands, local restaurants and regional food partners.
UCCS also expects to incorporate student-developed concepts and entrepreneurial initiatives into the dining program, according to the release.
“Dining is an important part of that experience, and our partnership with Aramark reflects that commitment by bringing more variety, new concepts, and continued enhancements to dining on campus,” UCCS Chancellor Jennifer Sobanet stated.
Aramark indicated that menus and service models will emphasize convenience, health and wellness, sustainability and broader menu selection. Digital tools will also be used across campus dining locations to support ordering, service delivery and operating efficiency.
The companies plan additional themed events, cultural programs and social dining initiatives intended to increase student participation in campus activities.
Barbara Flanagan, president and chief executive officer of Aramark Collegiate Hospitality, said changing expectations among future college students are increasing demand for personalization, convenience and wellness in campus food service.
“As Gen Alpha students begin arriving on college campuses in the years ahead, expectations around wellness, convenience, personalization, and meaningful dining experiences will continue to evolve,” Flanagan stated.
